Christine von Weizsäcker, Antje Lorch, Helena Paul and Ricarda Steinbrecher participated in the 14th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP14), 9th Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, and the 3rd Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits arising from their Utilization (MOP3) in Sharm El Sheik from 15 to 29 November.

Christine von Weizsäcker participated in the 12th meeting of the Liason Group on Capacity-building for Biosafety, This is a small group of experts chosen ad personam, and it gave input on the Post2020 Agenda of the CBD.

Christine von Weizsäcker, Helena Paul, Antje Lorch and Ricarda Steinbrecher participated in the Thirteens Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, (COP 13), the Eighth Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (MOP 8) and the Second Meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing (MOP 2) in Cancun, Mexico.

Christine von Weizsäcker and other ECOROPA members participated in the First meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The event also included meetings with representatives of other civil society organisations and of Indigenous and Peoples and Local Communities.

Christine von Weiszäcker and other ECOROPA members participated in the Twentieth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technological and Technical Advice to the Convention on Biological Diversity (SBSTTA 20).
The event also included several strategy meetings with other NGOs, as well as the organisation and participation in two side events on „The Relationship between the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety and Synthetic Biology – relevance to the Convention on Biological Diversity“ and on „Terminator and Gene Drives“.

Christine von Weizsäcker participated in the Eleventh meeting of the Liaison Group on Capacity-Building in Biosafety

Christine von Weizsäcker participated in the European Expert Meeting in Preparation of the Twentieth Meeting of SBSTTA.

Prof. Gilles-Eric Séralini received the Whistleblower award of the Vereinigung Deutscher Wissenschaftler (VDW) and the IALANA.
He was honoured for his achievements in researching and revealing the increased risks of the overall chemical package "Roundup" compared to pure "glyphosate" in aqueous solution and the long-term risks that only became apparent in animal feeding trials beyond the 90-day routine test were.
Christine von Weizsächker held the laudatio.

Antje Lorch participated as civil society representative at the Informal Advisory Board meeting of the Biosafety Clearing House of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
